Privacy notice

Your life is personal. We treat it that way.

This notice explains what Mirey collects, why we use it and the choices you have. It is written with the Australian Privacy Principles in mind.

Review, correct or delete your saved memory, available after signing in even when your membership has ended.

What we collect

We collect the information needed to provide your membership: account and contact details, profile preferences, requests and conversations, tasks, approvals, consent choices and the memories you ask Mirey to keep. We also collect limited technical and security information, such as sign-in and audit records.

Billing is handled through a payment provider. Mirey receives subscription and payment status information, but does not need to store your full card number.

Sensitive information

Some things you choose to share may be sensitive information, including health, therapy, disability, relationship or family details. We only collect this information when you choose to provide it and consent to Mirey using it to help with your requests. Access is subject to account permissions and the saved-context choices you make. We do not use this information for advertising.

Mirey is not an emergency, medical or crisis service. Avoid sharing information that is not needed for the help you want.

How we use information

When a phone number opts out of Mirey texts, we keep a restricted record of that number and its messaging preference. Removing a contact does not remove this protection. The recipient can reply START to opt in again.

We use member information to provide and improve Mirey, remember your preferences, prepare requested work, protect accounts, process membership billing, respond to support requests and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

If a live connection is offered, we will explain what it can access and ask for your consent first. Withdrawing consent blocks new use of that connection. End an active spoken conversation or telephone call before withdrawing its permission: changing the permission does not disconnect audio already in progress. Information already sent to a provider remains subject to that provider's handling and retention.

AI processing and your choices

Where enabled and permitted by you, OpenAI or Z.ai processes your messages, tool results and the saved-context categories you allow to prepare a response. These categories may include sensitive memories and recent conversations. Each provider needs your permission for the relevant purpose; permission for one provider does not give permission to another.

Reading a selected photo needs separate permission for the provider that receives the photo and filename. Mirey saves extracted text in your conversation, rather than storing the uploaded image. Voice-note transcription and live spoken conversations use OpenAI when enabled and permitted. Approved telephone calls can also send call instructions and audio to OpenAI and use a communications provider to connect the call.

You can review provider permissions and the saved-context categories you allow in Connections. Turning off saved context does not erase information already sent or saved; use the memory and account controls below for deletion requests.

You approve external actions

Mirey may prepare a message, booking, calendar event, order or payment, but a prepared action is not permission to carry it out. We require your explicit approval before an external or irreversible action happens.

Storage, security and service providers

Mirey's primary member database is hosted in Sydney, Australia. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including account authentication, access controls and owner-only data rules. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We may use carefully selected providers for hosting, authentication, payments, communications and support. They may process limited information on our behalf and may operate outside Australia. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, we take reasonable steps to require appropriate handling. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect someone from a serious threat.

Retention and limits of removal

Different records serve different purposes. Conversation content, communication records, security logs and billing records may have different retention periods. Removing a conversation or a saved item does not itself establish that every copy in logs, backups or a provider's systems has been erased.

Minimal deletion and delivery receipts, payment-event records and messaging opt-out records may remain for accountability, replay protection or preventing unwanted contact. The account-removal confirmation identifies retained records and limits; contact us about the handling of a particular record.

Your memory, access and deletion choices

Mirey's saved memory is user-controlled: you can review, edit or delete individual memories in the member app. You can also ask to access or correct your information, or request permanent deletion of your account and associated personal information in Me → Delete account. You can submit the request directly in Mirey without emailing support and check its status on the same page. We send an email confirmation after removal from Mirey's active systems has been verified. The confirmation describes retained records and other limits. It does not confirm that copies in backups or service providers' retention systems have already been erased. Deleting Mirey does not cancel bookings with other businesses or remove items already saved in your external calendar.
